This (registered) name is a french and english pun which can be explained so :

• Accro is a french abbreviation which means "addict"
• Stitch is ... the english word

Cross-stitch , you know...
In french, an "acrostiche" is a poem in which the whole verse's first letters compose a word or a sentence.

AccroStitch wishes to be the meeting site of the french cross-stitch addict ( perhaps all french-talking , why ever not ?).
